Race-Day Weather

January typically offers excellent running conditions in The Bahamas; however, participants should be prepared for warm temperatures, humidity and changing weather conditions.

Please check the local forecast before race morning and dress accordingly. Lightweight, breathable clothing, sunscreen and a hat or visor are recommended. Participants should begin hydrating before race day and continue to drink responsibly throughout the course.

Final race-day weather information and any related updates will be shared closer to the event.

Gear Check and Bag Drop

Gear check will be available in the race village on race morning.

Participants should use the designated gear-check bag and clearly identify it with their name and bib number. Please do not leave valuables, electronics, identification, medication or other irreplaceable items in your checked bag. The event is not responsible for lost, damaged or unattended belongings.

Allow enough time to check your gear before proceeding to the start line. Additional instructions regarding drop-off and collection will be provided at packet pick-up.

Timing and Race Bibs

All races will be professionally chip-timed. Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your race bib.

For accurate timing:

  • Wear your bib on the front of your shirt or race belt.
  • Keep your bib visible throughout the race.
  • Do not fold, bend or remove the timing chip.
  • Do not cover your bib with clothing or accessories.
  • Your bib is assigned specifically to you and should not be exchanged with another participant.

Your official time will be recorded when you cross the timing points along the course and at the finish line.

Course Time Limit

The marathon and half marathon will have a maximum completion time of six and a half hours, beginning at 6:00 a.m.

All participants must complete the course by 12:30 p.m. Roads will begin reopening to regular traffic at 12:31 p.m.

Participants who are unable to maintain the required pace may be asked to move to the sidewalk, follow the instructions of race officials or accept transportation from the course. These measures are necessary for the safety of participants, volunteers, medical teams and the public.

Aid Stations and Medical Support

Six aid stations will be positioned along the course, approximately 1.5 miles apart as well as port-o-lets at Race Village and along the course.

Aid stations will offer water, medical assistance and plenty of encouragement from volunteers and neighbourhood supporters. Details regarding the additional hydration or sports drink available on the course will be confirmed closer to race day.

Medical support will include:

  • A main medical station in the race village
  • Medical assistance at each of the six aid stations
  • Nursing students and trained medical personnel
  • Roving ambulances positioned along the course

Please listen to your body and seek assistance immediately if you feel unwell. Participants with known medical conditions should take appropriate precautions and carry any essential medication they may need.

Race Village

The race village at Goodman’s Bay will be the centre of race-day activity. Participants, friends, family members and supporters can enjoy entertainment, race announcements and the excitement of watching runners cross the finish line.

The finish line leads participants to the Race Village along the white powdery sands of Goodman’s Bay where they can end their race with a splash in the Goodman’s Bay turquoise waters. Participants are encouraged to remain in the race village after finishing to celebrate with fellow runners, support those still on the course and enjoy the post-race atmosphere.

Spectator Information

Spectators are warmly welcomed and encouraged to cheer for participants from safe, suitable viewing areas along the route.

For everyone’s safety, spectators must remain behind barricades and follow the directions of race officials, volunteers and security personnel. Please do not enter the course or impede participants at any time.

Calling All Neighborhood Supporters

We invite residents, businesses and community groups along the race route to come outside and help create an unforgettable experience for our participants.

Cheer, clap, wave signs, play music and share your Bahamian spirit as runners and walkers make their way through the course. Your encouragement can provide exactly the boost a participant needs to keep going.

Please remain in a safe location behind all barricades and be respectful of race officials, participants and other spectators.
